Hotel The Pulan is made up of two guest room wings joined by an atrium, called Tinian Blue, an indoor pool, and conference rooms.
The entire hotel complex forms a delicate arc encircled by a 420-meter-diameter
'water ring'. The 9,000 m2, crescent-shaped roof that tops the complex is covered
with solar panels that provide 25% of the energy needed to run The Pulan. The
crescent shape of this complex can even be seen from an orbiting satellite, and
forms a symbol worthy of the name Pulan ("moon" in Chamorro) and its environmentally
friendly design.
The tiled floor of the Tinian Blue atrium is, as the name suggests,
blue. Computer-controlled blinking LEDs cover the floor surface and make it appear
that the vast atrium is filled with twinkling stars. With the light of the moon
shining down, guests will feel like they are sailing through the Milky Way in
their own private blue universe. And each guest room is like a magical cosmos
of luxury. Of the 405 guest rooms, 169 are ocean view suites (including junior
suites and presidential suites).
